For Osunlade, music is a spiritual calling rather than just a career. A St. Louis native who was composing by age twelve, he transitioned from a successful Hollywood producer—behind hits like “Rico Suave”—to a visionary label head.

After years of navigating the pressures of the mainstream industry, he found balance through the Yoruba faith and established Yoruba Records in 1999.

Since the release of his landmark album Paradigm in 2001, he has become a cornerstone of the global dance community. His label, now with over 300 releases, remains a sanctuary for soulful jazz and electronic music, driven by the belief that production should always be an honest reflection of the artist’s spirit.
