JAPAN RAIL CAFE Singapore is the world’s first travel-themed cafe operated by JR East Business Development Southeast Asia (SEABD). Located in the heart of Singapore in Tanjong Pagar's Guoco Tower ( #01-19/20), our aim is to be a “Platform for Real Japan, Platform for Real Communication”, where our community of Japan Lovers can use this physical space to share travel experiences, memories, and discu

😺🚃 [RAILWAY FEATURE: WAKAYAMA ELECTRIC RAILWAY] If you find yourself in Osaka with your family this spring 🌸, hop on over to Wakayama for one of Japan’s most heartwarming railway stories: the Wakayama Electric Railway!

Just about an hour from Osaka, this rustic railway in Wakayama is home to not one, not two, but FIVE specialty trains, and of course, the world-famous cat stationmasters 🐾🎩

The legend began in 2007 at Kishi Station, when a calico cat named Tama was appointed honorary stationmaster to help revitalise local tourism. What started as a novel idea turned into a nationwide sensation, boosting visitor numbers and quite literally saving the railway from bankruptcy 💛

Though Tama passed away in 2015, her legacy lives on through her successors, who continue their very important duties of greeting visitors… and napping on the job 😴🐱 Beyond spotting a cat in a conductor’s hat, you’ll also find themed trains, a cat museum, cafés, and plenty of paw-some photo spots along the line 📸✨

🍎🚄 [EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT – JAL DE HAKOBYUN FRUITS MARCHE] Did you know that in Japan, fruits can be delivered… by bullet train? 🚄

Using the speed and reliability of the Shinkansen, JR East operates a special delivery service called Hakobyun, transporting freshly harvested fruits and vegetables from the Tohoku region straight to Tokyo in record time! 📦

🍎❄️ This April, we'll be bringing you a special type of apple from Yamagata Prefecture known as Snow Apple. It's star point is exactly as described–an apple kept fresh through the winter by burying it in snow!

That's not all, Momobud will be back once again to spice up the variety with several of their own premium Japanese fruits, and we'll be returning our apple parfait and tarts menus just for this occasion!
