En route to a meeting, it is our lucky day that, as our bus rolls by Zion Road food centre, we espy only 1 CKT-fan in front of the stall…Then, it is a knee-jerk reaction to alight lickety split and make a beeline for the stall in the drizzle, never mind that food, to say nothing of CKT, isn’t even next on our itinerary of the day.

amongst the cathedrals of books;
then, fussing over a horizontal cat with tiger stripes;
then, espying a monitor lizard the size of a crocodile;
then, colliding, literally, with a caterpillar suspended midair;
then, a Black-naped Oriole caught in beautiful flight…
the blissful fragrance of flowers
and their timeless beauty,
the troop of frolicking otters,
the empire of mushrooms,
the lone Asian Open Bill Stork foraging,
the perched Blue Spotted dove in silent contemplation…

This is the art of lingering.

She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.
And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,

The endless rigmaroles of administration. The hunt for equipments on lease that fit the mall’s requirements to the letter…the plannings, the coordinations. The unwavering marathon of production between just the two of us. The frustrating scramble for part-timers. The ebbs and the flows of emotions preceding the event. All…in earnest preparation to start dishing out our kuehs tomorrow morning, 1030am, at Takashimaya. How things will unfurl henceforth, we try not to imagine—we’ll be the wiser to just be focusing on the present, getting the next best thing done in all excellence. And then trust.
