As we ushered in 2026, we’ve been taking some time to reflect on everything 2025 has brought us.

It was a year filled with unforeseen changes, challenges, and growth. From reopening our Woodleigh outlet to making a difficult but necessary menu change when our previous one wasn’t working out, it pushed us in ways we didn’t expect.

Running a hawker stall comes with its highs and lows. There were months where we made a loss and struggled just to keep afloat, alongside demanding moments and harsh words - some that went beyond feedback and became personal. We accept criticism and always strive to do better, but moments like these remind us how easily the hard work behind the scenes can be overlooked.

We also faced setbacks, including having our original menu replicated and a team member being recruited away 🥲 As tough as these moments were, they became fuel - a reminder that Darryl’s food had made an impact.

At the same time, 2025 brought moments we’re deeply thankful for. We had the honour of participating in Singapore Heritage Fest and were incredibly humbled to be interviewed by CNA and Time Out — experiences we never imagined when we first started this journey.

Not many may know this, but the one behind our social media accounts is me — Darryl’s wife. From a wife’s perspective, after leaving my corporate job (and recently becoming employed again) to support Darryl full-time over the past year, I’ve seen firsthand how demanding hawker life truly is — 14 to 15 hour days, 7 days a week, often on little sleep. Darryl has been doing this for 8 years straight, pouring his heart into serving affordable, modern vegetarian food, obsessing over every sauce, soup base, and ingredient that goes out.

As we step into the new year, we carry forward the lessons, the resilience, and the gratitude. Thank you to everyone who has stood by us — your support truly keeps us going, even on the hardest days.

Here’s to learning, growing, and continuing to do what we love in the year ahead 🤍 Happy New Year to you all and thank you for being part of our journey!
