I am very sorry to say that I cannot make it to the farmer's market this Saturday at Loewen Gardens :(

I would, however, be happy to take orders for cream cheese and bagels (plain, onion, chia seed and sesame seed only), and can arrange pick up points in the following 3 locations: Little India, CBD/Raffles/Telok Ayer Street, and Bukit Timah (King Albert Park).

I apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you at the next market!!

Bagels and Bloggers... who knew?! Desiree Koh's blaw-blaw-blog about Mama Bagel is as entertaining as it is informative about the bagel baking process, the lack of good bagels in Singapore (until now :) and how the carbs in a bagel are great for the athlete in you. Thank you so much Desiree for the support, the publicity, and the outright zaniness of your nature!!!

To find the only authentic New Yawk bagels in Singapore, I had to wander through Sarnies, a cafe modeled after Melbourne’s finest, where a flat white is a coffee order and not a Studio 54 bat...

When Jennifer Harrison, a New York native, moved to Portugal in 2001, there were no bagels to be found. “After a couple of years of waiting for friends and family to visit—and bring me bagels—I finally got fed up and learned how to make them myself,” she says. “I moved from Portugal to Singapore abo...

I do my bageling (aka baking of bagels) at a cafe in downtown Singapore called Sarnies (http://www.facebook.com/sarnies.singapore?ref=ts). Every time I'm there bageling for a client, a Sarnie's customer buys me out before I can finish a batch.

So tonight and Wednesday I am baking FRESH bagels just for those of you who want to come in and experience the joy of a bagel right out of the oven. You think they're good toasted? Just you wait...

Come on down to Sarnies from 7pm Tuesday and Wednesday and experience the freshest of fresh from Mama Bagel. See you there!

Introducing a new Mama Bagel flavor-- CHIA SEED. Chia seeds originate in Mexico and are the latest discovery of nature’s “super foods”. They are so good for you, in fact, that they have more Omega-3 than any other natural food source. They're also super high in antioxidants, fiber, protein, iron, calcium and magnesium.

I’ve used Chia seeds in place of the more traditional Poppy seed bagel topping as the taste and texture are very similar (and poppy seeds are illegal in Singapore).

Enjoy and be well!
