Every year on 1 May, we try to celebrate Nylon’s anniversary in a meaningful way. This year’s 14th anniversary, our team brought back the Everton Park community market to bring together our friends and neighbours in a fund raising exercise to bring clean and safe drinking water to a village in Bangladesh. In addition, we also organised a casual charity run/walk which participants clock in 14km for a good cause. We’re super stoked that our fund raising campaign met its target of US$10,000 with the support of our customers, friends and neighbours.

Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve raised USS$10,217. This amount comprises of S$3094.56 from the coffee beverage sales on 1st May, S$5635.50 from the community market sales run, S$1410 from the registration fees from the charity run/walk, S$1581 from the cash donation jar, as well as US$955 from online donation. This is an amazing effort from the community.

Special shoutout to our community market supporters

Every donation helps bring sustainable clean water solutions to communities where access to safe water is a daily struggle.

Thank you to everyone who donated or helped spread the word. Your kindness is creating real, lasting change, and we’ll continue sharing updates as the projects progress.
Thank you for being part of this life-changing mission. 🌍💙

With heartfelt gratitude,
Team Nylon

Just getting back from our 14th anniversary bash, we were so excited to roast May’s subscription coffee! We’ve been eagerly anticipating roasting the Peruvian coffees we got last year because it was a big step towards importing them directly from Peru. The logistics were a bit tricky and the delay wasn’t planned, but we’re really happy we finally got it going.

The coffee we’ve curated for May’s subscription is a natural processed Bourbon from William Manchay Espinoza. We picked this one because it’s so clean and fruity, without any of that overly fermented or funky notes in it. We love the deep red fruit tones and how smooth it felt when we first tasted it with our sourcing partner in Peru, . There’s also a hint of subtle red florals in the background, like a rose.

Peru isn’t just famous for its amazing food; it’s also a country with lots of hidden coffee treasures. This is just the beginning of many more Peruvian micro-lots that we’ll be showing off at Nylon.

We also want to thank everyone who came to our community market on 1 May to help us raise money for a water project in Bangladesh. The donations will be sent to and will soon be used in Bangladesh to bring clean water to those who don’t have access to it.

Enjoy this month’s coffee. Keep brewing, keep running!

During our recent trip to Central America, we asked our producers to share their messages with our community for our 14th anniversary.

As we start rolling out the harvests from Brazil, our producers also sent across their special greetings to share with our community.

Here’s to 14 years and many many more…

14 years of Nylon 💙

This 1 May, we’re marking our anniversary the only way we know how — with our coffee, our community, and all for a cause close to our hearts.

We have invited our friends and neighbours to join us for a small community market at Nylon, where every cup and every purchase gives back. Together, we’re raising funds for a water project in Bangladesh — part of our ongoing work with charity: water.

Over the past 13 years, with your support, we’ve raised USD 72,200, helping bring clean water to 1,882 people around the world. This year, we continue that journey with you.

Joining us for the day:

Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh
Beano Soya Bean
JCakes
Ethos Gelato
Dearborn Granola
Studio SF ceramics
Tiny Rabbit Hole (crochet workshops)
Everton Chiropractic

Our friends will be pledging part (or all) of their sales, and 100% of coffee drinks proceeds from Nylon will go towards the project.

Come by and have a coffee, support the community, and be part of something bigger. Every cup, every purchase, every bit counts.

Let’s make year 14 count — bring your village and we want to see you here.

Slight overdue in this month’s subscription video, but we “upped our game” and filmed this month’s subscription video across the causeway so our viewers get to see a different backdrop. Set at our friend’s cafe, Sweet Blossom, we have imposed on their cozy space for the boss to brew us a cup of this month’s subscription coffee, a washed Yellow Bourbon from La Germania, Colombia.

Think of the colour “yellow” when brewing & tasting this coffee, and we hope you will experience what we get when enjoying this coffee. In this month’s video, we also shared some activities we have lined up for Nylon’s 14th anniversary on 1 May. It’s going to be a meaningful celebration with our adopted water project in Bangladesh in partnership with this year. Help us spread the word and get your whole village down for a good cause!

Mark your calendars and see you on Labour Day!

Come 1 May, Nylon turns 14!

It’s been a long journey but with the love and support of the Nylon community, we continue to prosper in the lovely Everton Park. This year, we are inviting our community to join us for a ‘sweaty’ fund raising event. After 14 years of running a coffeeshop and brewing for everyone who drops by Nylon, we are cajoling you to clock 14km on 1st May, and come in to claim a refreshing ice cold batch brew and a limited edition mystery gift.

Register for this run through the link on our bio-page and 100% of the registration fees will go to fund a water project in Bangladesh (by our long term partner ).

Sign up by 26 April to participate in this fun and meaningful charity fundraisier!

Wrapping up our sourcing trip across Central America 🇳🇮 — our last stop took us from Honduras into Nicaragua, where we base ourselves in Ocotal to visit farms around Dipilto and Nuevo Segovia.

The weather felt unusually cool this year, and producers shared that a cold spell since January slowed cherry ripening 🌿. Many farms saw 20–70% lower yields — a tough season for everyone.

We spent two days at Los Suyates, La Guadalupana, and Finca Libre — behind some of the filters and espressos you might’ve enjoyed recently. Misty mornings, mountain views, and rows of Catuai, Maracaturra, and Geisha 🌸 remind us why we love being here.

On the way down from Los Suyates, we bumped into Don Mario Gomez (multiple Cup of Excellence winner) — an unplanned but heartwarming chat before continuing our way downhill.

Back in Ocotal, we caught up with Bridazul, whose work bridging producers and roasters continues to build trust and connection ❤️. At Finca Libre, we cupped with Jasser (QC lead) and Edwin (farm manager) — tasting some of the early pickings and catching up on how the season’s challenges shaped this year’s coffees.

Despite the challenges, Nicaragua always grounds us — deepening our appreciation for the people and coffees we’re proud to share from crop to cup 🌄☕
