💫For anyone new, hi I’m Andrea! I started baking wholefood bakes because my mum has heart disease and I wanted to redefine what a cake could be.

I believe desserts can be made nourishing enough to enjoy as an everyday breakfast or snack when made with real foods.

9 years into running The Clean Addicts, I’ve had my fair share of doubt behind the scenes. Not everyone can appreciate what I do and that is expected especially when people aren’t used to eat beans, seeds and dates.. 🙊

This year, there’s no big anniversary celebration – life is full with a baby right now, but I didn’t want to let it pass without saying thank you. ❤️

To those who’ve been here from the beginning, and those who continue to support quietly or consistently.. you’ve truly kept this going more than you know!

Balancing motherhood and this new role of caregiving has been a steep learning curve, with an unpredictable schedule at times, especially when baby or I fall sick.

I’m grateful that I’m still able to do what I love because of your support, and I’m glad to be growing alongside many of you through different seasons of life.

I used to spiral a lot when things didn’t go as planned - sales, timing, growth, life milestones.

Now I’m learning to hold things with more steadiness. Not behind. Not too late. Just still becoming.

Here are some reframes that have helped me, and I hope they help someone else too.

If you’re in a season of doubt or comparison, keep going.

And I’m thankful to God for blessing me, allowing me to continue doing what I love - to work hard, show up courageously, and hopefully help someone along the way in their own health journey! ❤️Andrea

Beans in cake sounds strange…
Until you taste it and start loving it after some time.. which was the case for my hubby and family! And all trying to eat better for their blood panels 😋

I started experimenting with wholefoods like beans and oats years ago because I wanted desserts that felt comforting and nourishing, and feeling good and energised after instead of “jelak”— not just a sugar satisfaction.

Everyone is talking about protein.. but fibre is important too! A balanced diet is key and adding plant based protein sources is also beneficial and heart-healthy.

First Mother’s Day as a mum myself — while also navigating life with my baby starting solids — has been a full, stretching season. Some days it felt like my mind had too many tabs open at once.

But baking still feels like home.

Each cake carried more than ingredients — they were crafted slowly, intentionally, and with a lot of love in this in-between season of motherhood and business.

💕 If there’s one thing I’d say to a mum who just gave birth, it’s this…

This was my body when I came home from the hospital.
90% of the time, I was in adult diapers — constantly bleeding for weeks, uncomfortable, and nowhere close to fitting into my old clothes.

I won’t lie… it felt discouraging at times.
But I also knew — this is a whole new phase of life.

For those first two months, I stayed in my pregnancy clothes. I chose comfort over appearance, because honestly… I was in survival mode.

And here’s what I want you to remember:
Whether or not you can fit into your old clothes — you are still worthy.

Your body just carried life.
It is healing, recovering, and doing something incredible behind the scenes.

Be gentle with yourself in this season.
Give yourself the grace you would give someone you love.

God created our bodies to bring life — and that alone is so beautiful.
So today, we say: thank you, body.

✨Lessons learnt the hard way, carrying them into 2026.
The last decade has taught me so much about what health truly is.

It’s not about expensive superfoods, fancy red light therapy, fancy equipment, gym memberships or getting ripped..

It’s more about slowing down, listening to your body better, and prioritising what really matters. Being aligned with your values and state of mind as well.

From movement that supports me (not punishes me), eating food with joy (not based on fear) to naming my emotions instead of pushing them away, to cherishing moments with loved ones — these are the things I’m holding onto as I step into the new year.

I hope these gentle reminders help you too 💛

I had no idea but breastfeeding hunger is off the charts compared to pregnancy hunger! 🥵
And making breast milk can use up around 500 extra calories a day.. no wonder I’m hungry all the time.. 🤯

If you need new snack ideas, here are 2 quick, nourishing snacks that help keep my energy stable while caring, feeding and carrying baby all day! 🤗💪🏻

I enjoy using Mummy’s Almond Butter & Savoury Walnuts because they’re packed with:

💫 Can’t believe it — it has already been 1 month since delivery!

This last month has stretched me in ways I didn’t expect.

I’ve gone from whisking, standing for hours in the kitchen, timing bake schedules, and replying to enquiries… to learning breastfeeding, understanding baby cues and celebrating new “wins” like bathing this tiny, fragile (and very active!) baby and putting him to sleep 💤

At times, I do miss creating and experimenting in the kitchen.
Baking has been therapy for me ever since I first started baking for friends and family in 2013 🍰

But for now, my priority is this tiny life who wakes up a little different every day. 💓

Motherhood feels like holy ground — a sacred work I didn’t know my heart was fully ready for, but God has His ways of preparing us. I’m learning to stay calm when baby cries, to be patient, and to grow right alongside him.

It reminds me of the verse:
✨ “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” — Psalm 127:3

While life looks different right now, I’m learning to savour this season day by day, giving myself grace and celebrating the little moments and milestones 🤍

And on the days I feel unsure or tired, I hold onto this reminder:
✨ “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” — Proverbs 31:25

As the year comes to a close, may you slow down and enjoy each day and moment with your loved ones 🤗

💫Not many talk about ECVs in Singapore, so here’s my story
My baby has always been lying transverse since 2nd trimester & then turned breech from 35-37 weeks. And so I decided to do ECV💓

ECV is a procedure where your doctor uses firm pressure on your abdomen to guide baby into a head-down position - all while monitoring baby’s heart rate before & after.

Mine was a positive one and did not do any epidural or pain management for this.

It felt like an intense deep-tissue massage, uncomfortable but manageable!

Here are some tips if you’re considering it:
✨Ask your doctor to check cord position & fluid levels first.
✨Relax and take slow breaths during procedure
✨Choose an experienced obstetrician who does
ECVs often

So thankful the experience wasn’t as daunting as I thought and don’t mind doing procedure again for natural delivery if the position of breech baby and cord are ideal! Baby turned back despite this but at least we tried our best!

It’s such a bittersweet feeling knowing that 9 months of carrying this little one is almost coming to an end 🥺💓

The end-of-pregnancy symptoms hit hard!

👉 Acid reflux so strong I can’t even be discreet with my burps anymore 😅
👉 Even drinking water feels like a challenge
👉 Constant back pain, pelvic pressure, and bathroom trips every 15 minutes since baby is pressing against bladder more

It’s definitely a mix of discomfort and my body preparing for labour + false alarm to the hospital.

Right now, I’m focusing on slowing down:
🌿 De-stressing and boosting oxytocin
🌿 Eating 50-60g of dates/day and drinking red raspberry leaf tea (started late since I was expecting a C-section!)
🌿 Doing gentle stretches and hip openers
🌿 Resting whenever I can and filling my mind with positive birth stories and affirmations 💕

Listening to my body and not pushing too hard has been the biggest reminder for week 39.

Any other mamas feeling these end-of-pregnancy symptoms too? We’re so close! 💫

The last one started in 2nd tri & kinda affected my daily life including 🤦🏻‍♀️🥹
Also, the internet can either be your friend or enemy.. gotta be discerning but thankful for living in this info age just to be safe and educate myself as knowledge is power! Though sometimes can be overwhelming. You need to find that balance & not spiral too 😅

I am due for a C-section today.
Or least scheduled since 2 months ago when we found out that baby is not turning head down. He loves being sideways.

For months up till now, I tried everything — TCM, handstands in the pool, spinning babies, inversions.. hoping baby would turn and that able to go through with a natural delivery.

Baby turned even after an ECV (where the doctor manually turned 👶🏻) and 👶🏻 decided to flip back again. It was discouraging and an emotional rollercoaster.

Then, out of nowhere, God decides to make 👶🏻 turn head-down at 38 weeks. And my scheduled C section was cancelled 🥹🌸

It reminded me that anything can happen and that pregnancy is truly a season of surrender.

No matter how much I plan or prepare or try to control, so much of this journey is out of my hands — from conception till labour.

Maybe that’s what faith really looks like.. trusting that God’s timing and design are still good, even when it’s not what I expected.

💛 To all the mamas, whether your baby arrives naturally or through a C-section or even an emergency one (as labour can be unpredictable) — your story is beautiful and your birth is powerful.

You are strong for being in this journey and amazing as you are.

This reminded me that life is full of things we cannot control. Whether it’s pregnancy, work, relationships, health, or any season of waiting — so much is in God’s hands, not ours.

Faith isn’t about having control.. it’s about trusting that God’s timing and plan are good, even when we don’t understand it.

If you are in a difficult situation right now, may you find courage to let go of fear and surrender to the process. Your story is still beautiful, and His plan is still at work.
