There will be no dining-in on that day. This Page is not a petition to the owners of Tong Seng to change their decision of not closing down this long-serving, nostalgic coffeeshop but to serve as a living memory of one of Singapore's Food Treasures. Many of us locals and tourists alike, have eaten here at least once in our lives. Sometimes, the old has to be replaced with the new. However, the closure of Tong Seng marks yet another change of progress as Singapore turns into a densely-populated first world urban jungle. Yours truly managed to savour one of the last few meals there, specifically the tasty bowl of fried wanton noodles, and called on one of the veteran staff for a short chat. It's sad to see this place succumb to urbanisation. As we said our goodbyes, I could see Uncle Ah Seng's eyes grew moist. He patted me hard on my shoulders, almost refusing to let go and insisted that I come down during its last day of operation. I gave my word and hope that anyone of you reading this would do the same. Please feel free to contribute pictures of yourselves eating at this beautiful eatery before it rolls down its shutters for the last time. As of the launch of this Page, we have 07 more days left to have our parting meals at Tong Seng Coffeeshop.
