When we closed .cafe’s doors earlier this year on 31st Jan, to soft launch .co on 1st Feb, many longtime customers were distraught that our OTHER legacy dish (besides the famed scrambled eggs - which moved to .gram) did not continue at either venue.

Behold, the Savoury French Toast, making its comeback at Gather. Keep reliving your memories, replete with a Dirty Ronin or Ronin’s Grilled Cheese, washed down with a Cold Brew Generra or Wicked!

p.s. Our intentions for bringing back legacy menu items from our earlier pioneering cafes are two-fold. Firstly, to make available again well-loved customer favourites - to comfort & rekindle cherished memories from an earlier time in their lives. Secondly, to enable more range of choice (besides our crepes) which can travel well.

Note: We have used oven-grilled pancetta here instead of the original bacon, to minimise grease output in the kitchen.

Generra / Orange Infused Mocha
Backstory / First created in 2010 at our maiden cafe The Plain. Inspired by the Generra coffee Laura used to takeaway at the UNSW library lawn (circa 1997-2002, it still serves students to this day), Vincent added smeared chocolate to The Plain’s homage to their youthful memories in Sydney.

Wicked / Mint Infused Mocha
Backstory / Created in 2012 for Hermès ‘The Gift Of Time’ exhibit at the old Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, the brief called for a refreshing beverage to suit a warm outdoor venue. We named it after the cast members of the musical Wicked, who were devout regulars of The Plain during their tour. Yes both Elphaba & Glinda! Wicked later became better known as .cafe’s signature drink.

Super proud of teams .gram & .co who have collaborated to encapsulate our signature coffee drinks into bottled cold brew versions.

When one door closes, another one opens. The space at 17 Hongkong street is gone but the food & coffees live on at .gram & .co!

Whether self-isolating, working from home or home-schooling, when the nostalgia hits -> WhatsApp .gram for your scrambled eggs fix. Yes, both Wicked & Generra is available too. There are plans to bring back our legendary grilled cheese & Dirty Ronin in the near future, if this continues.

Thank you everyone who helped in our joint fundraising for the Australian bushfire relief efforts, during the weekend of 17-19 January 2020.

We are pleased to confirm that we have donated a total of AUD$2920.50 to .

Whether you enjoyed coffees at both our venues, Bircher Muesli at .gram or Dirty Ronin at the now closed .cafe, 20% of those sales counted towards the donation. Thank you to those who attended our workshops (100% proceeds donated), now you know our trade secrets!

The time has come for us to say goodbye, for now. Tomorrow (31/1) is our final day of trading.

This is a 10th year homecoming project since our return to Singapore in 2009, after having the privilege of living/working in Melbourne/Sydney for over a decade.

It is our desire to continue exemplifying the unique hospitality experience and cafe culture, as instilled to us by our mentors Danny, Bill & Faye Colls (of Cafe Racer, Postal Hall & Coffee Darling fame).

Doing our bit for the Australian bushfire relief. Cafe culture from Melbourne & Sydney is deep-rooted in what we do, we had to contribute in some form, no matter how modest as a small business owner.

On the 17-19 January, 20% of our sales from Bircher Muesli at .gram, Dirty Ronin at .cafe, as well as coffees at BOTH cafes, will go towards WIRES .

We are also conducting 2 workshops on 17th Jan 2020, at $50/pax. 100% of class proceeds will go to WIRES. Pls DM .gram or .cafe to sign up, slots limited.

PSA: Thank you guys for letting .co team serve you since the New Year. Next week is the final week to have Scrambled Eggs & French Toast at Ronin, before we move on to ready our new shop space.

Ronin will be closed for the CNY break 24-28 Jan, re-opening on 29 Jan, Wednesday. When we return, we will be serving coffees, beverages & baked goods henceforth. The scrambled eggs will migrate to .gram. Savoury French Toast will be on hiatus, so carpe diem, last day to eat it is Sunday 19/1.
