Presenter’s Spotlight | Associate Professor Wee Shiou Liang🌟

As Singapore's population ages, how can we ensure that every individual continues to live with dignity, purpose and a sense of belonging?

We are honoured to welcome Associate Professor Wee Shiou Liang from the S R Nathan School of Human Development, SUSS as a featured presenter at the Forum on Access & Social Justice.

Drawing on over 20 years of experience in ageing research, policy and practice, Professor Wee will share insights from his plenary address, "Living with Purpose and Dignity", examining how communities can support meaningful ageing while upholding the dignity and value of every individual.

His session invites us to rethink ageing not as a challenge to be managed, but as an opportunity to foster inclusion, connection and purpose for all.

Behind every behaviour, there is something to understand. 💡

This week, we attended SG Enable's Positive Behaviour Support at the Workplace workshop, exploring how we can better understand and support employees with disabilities in the workplace.

One key takeaway? Understand. Prevent. Teach. Respond.

Through discussions and practical scenarios, we learnt to look beyond the behaviour itself, understand what may be influencing it, and consider how the environment and support around an individual can make a difference.

Because an inclusive workplace isn’t just about opening doors. It’s about creating a safe space where everyone is supported to contribute, grow and thrive. ❤️

Homes shined, connections forged ❤️

Close to 300 students from Dunman High School 德明政府中学 befriended and cleaned 45 seniors’ homes last month through our M.Y Homeshine programme, as part of the celebrations for Singapore 61st birthday.

Seniors shared stories from the past, bonded over favourite food spots, and exchanged laughter with one another.

We recently welcomed the presenters of the upcoming Forum on Access & Social Justice to MYMCA, where we had the opportunity to share more about our work across the Metro Y Social Hub.

The visit sparked meaningful conversations around inclusion, sustainability, access and the role we each play in creating stronger communities. It also offered a glimpse into the kinds of practical, community-focused approaches that will be explored at the upcoming Forum.

✨ 5400 km pedalled, 800 km walked, 2000 children & youths empowered with M.Y Sports Fiesta 2026 ✨

Our 6th fundraising fiesta was the biggest it’s ever been 💥 From a morning flag-off as early as 5.30am for our 120 km and 40 km Bike-a-thon riders, to the biggest Fun Walk contingent yet with seniors & PWGs (People-with-Gifts), the morning started off with anticipation and team spirit.

The fun continued at our Family Carnival, where participants, families and curious onlookers came together to enjoy arts & crafts, games, adaptive sports, energy-fuelling food & drinks, as well as complimentary ice baths and sports massages.

We sincerely thank all participants, board members, corporate partners, volunteers and donors who have brightened up Punggol Digital District with their hearts for vulnerable children and youths.
