[Last week at Keong Saik]⁣
⁣
Muse Initiative (aka Hvala Keong Saik) has been a great test bed for many of our quirky concepts and unconventional ideas. ⁣
⁣
From exploring how customers would react to an outlet that serves vegan drinks by default (and having fresh milk as the alternative option instead), to stretching our pastry team’s capabilities in developing new recipes (daifuku mooncake, vegan products, etc.), and even dipping our toes into experiential dining!⁣
⁣
It has been an awesome time (with the exception of interruptions from the covid situation), and we are ready to venture on to our next exciting project(s) — to be revealed very soon in the coming months!⁣
⁣
Bidding adieu to this charming 3-storied shophouse, our last day of service at Keong Saik will be on 19 February (Saturday). For our next upcoming concept, stay tuned!

[𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐝 - 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚°𝟏𝟎]⁣

For the longest time we have tried to test the boundaries of how concentrated can our matcha gelato be. Traditionally, the more matcha powder you put into the gelato, the harder and grainier the gelato becomes. To circumvent this limitation, the team had to break down the wall of convention in gelato making and thus creating the strongest matcha flavour we have ever tasted.⁣
⁣
This new flavour has a whopping 25% more matcha powder compared to our previous limited edition Matcha°8, and more than 3X the matcha powder in our regular Matcha°3 gelato.⁣
⁣
Freshly churned and served within 3 hours, the gelato remains smooth and soft.⁣
⁣
This is a treat not to be missed and definitely not for the faint hearted!⁣
⁣

Do you enjoy browsing memes, having a good chuckle at them? Perhaps, you might save some to share during conversations, or have even tried your hand in creating one!⁣

Our next exhibition, inspired by NFTs (non-fungible tokens) that have taken up the art world by storm these days, will be a display of original memes created by anybody and everybody.⁣

Submit a copy of your meme via email to [email protected], and stand to win up to $50 worth of tea beverages and desserts if it is selected for display!

ennui is part of a body of images that manifested from months of long morning walks, in a bid to make sense of my restlessness and disenchanted state of being.⁣
⁣
The free flowing fabric symbolises a state of surrender to the ineluctable flux of life and circumstance, whilst being tethered by an anchor.⁣
⁣

[Chawan by APSN Chaoyang School students & volunteers]⁣
⁣
They look no different from any other child, eyes bright and curious. It is when you interact with them, that you realise they are not like most children — for their condition is an invisible one. ⁣
⁣
This series of chawan on display at Muse Initiative is made by students from APSN Chaoyang School, a Special Education School for children diagnosed with mild intellectual disability (IQ 50-70) — a condition that is not physically visible and is hard to diagnose.⁣
⁣
The various chawan lining our shelves are all painstakingly handpinched by the students, Potter Kim Whye Kee of and a group of volunteers. These precious chawan are for sale, with full proceeds going to APSN Chaoyang School ⁣

verses for a future is a series of encrypted poems which address the future of human- machine kinships. These poems were born through an ongoing encryption project titled, ’sifrmu’. The word “sifrmu” is a portmanteau of 'sifr’, which is Arabic for zero and the etymology of the word cipher, and "mu”, a Malay suffix meaning, ”you" or “yours”. It is loosely translated as “your cipher”.⁣
⁣
Each poem is presented as a diptych, consisting of two parts of the encrypted form, in Jawi and a set of alphanumeric characters.
