Hey everyone! Are you ready to travel back in time with us? Today, we're diving into the rich history of Sin Sin BBQ Seafood!
The story of the hawker stall began in the late 1970s when a mother and daughter team started off with a humble Satay stall at Newton Food Centre. In 1984, they switched to selling BBQ Seafood, becoming the first BBQ Seafood Stall at Newton Food Centre and one of the pioneers in introducing this cuisine in Singapore.
The early years were challenging, with BBQ Seafood being a relatively new concept. The daughter, Maggie Chan, and her husband worked long hours and faced competition from other stalls that saw the opportunity to open up the same concept. However, their dedication to providing the freshest seafood and friendly service has resulted in many customers returning time and again to enjoy their offerings.
As time passed, Sin Sin BBQ Seafood became increasingly popular, attracting more customers and expanding its menu to include a wider variety of seafood dishes. The stall became renowned for its signature dishes, such as the rich and spicy chilli crab.
Despite the difficulties of running a hawker stall, Maggie and her family remained committed to delivering the best possible service to their customers. They worked tirelessly day in and day out to ensure that every dish was cooked to perfection and served with a smile.
Today, 40 years after it was first established, Sin Sin BBQ Seafood is still going strong. It has become a source of pride for the family, who have dedicated their lives to serving up some of the best seafood in the area.
