What's in a Mee Pok?

Wikipedia: "Mee pok is a Chinese noodle characterized by its flat and yellow appearance, varying in thickness and width. The dish is of Chaoshan origin and is commonly served in the Chaoshan region of China and countries with a significant Chaoshan Chinese immigrant population such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand."

To date, this simple Teochew noodle dish has strong roots in the Chaoshan region of China, but through time, it has since established itself as one of the staple dishes in Singapore with its blend of sambal chilli and choice ingredients.

🌶️🔥 **Discover the Flavours of Singapore: Sambal Chili! 🔥🌶️

Sambal is a spicy relish which serves as both a core ingredient and side dish of Chinese, Malay, Peranakan, Eurasian cuisines in Singapore, and neighbouring countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

Typically consisting of fresh chillies, shrimp paste, lime juice, sugar, and salt; sambal - in its various flavours and forms - has both a rich history and an extensive presence in the preparation of a myriad of familiar local dishes.

Traditionally, sambal is used as an all-purpose condiment to add heat and flavour to marinades, dips, sauces, and spreads, and to accompany dishes such as nasi lemak, char kway teow, and laksa. And of course, our Teochew famous fishball kuay teow mee:)

Bertrand Cheo, the 3rd generation owner of Bee Yee, interviewed by Biz Africa Events, the organiser of Taste of Singapore & Asia 2024 Roadshow:

Bee Yee is one of Singapore’s heritage foods to be show case in Singapore CNA program called “Belly of The Nation”. We were also invited to be the finalise for “Favourite Street Food Vendor” by Gastromonth. Being one of Singapore longest standing fish ball noodle brand. We were also awarded “Best Food 2017” as well as newspaper articles.

Just before covid, we have created the world first Singapore fresh Mee Pok Noodle Kit, that cooks within 10 to 20 seconds. Unlike instant noodles, we used only fresh ingredients and no added preservative. No added pork or lard.

Our signature sambal chilli has been over 5 decades and pass down to use to create this easy and tasteful Singapore popular hawker dish. We have sold more than 50 thousand boxes locally in Singapore and across many countries like: Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, Japan, United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Switzerland.

Currently we would like to expand our business to other parts of the world and to show case our unique heritage Singapore food. We plan to open Malaysia market is because we have clients coming to Singapore to buy our products. Therefore, we are looking for distributors and partners to collaborate with us.
