[PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT]
Assalamualaikum to all Yumz Snackz's customers and customers-to-be.
With the recent spate of online scams happening in Singapore which accounted for a lot of financial losses and hacked social media accounts, Yumz Snackz would like to bring your attention to this conversation that Yumz Snackz received on Instagram.
One of Yumz Snackz's followers on Instagram (presumably the follower's Instagram account has been hacked), messaged Yumz Snackz asking for help to log in to page (messaged on Instagram for Facebook help, RED FLAG! Even though both Instagram and Facebook are owned by the same company, but verification SMSes will be sent out accordingly).
The sender then asked for Yumz Snackz's number which Yumz Snackz then provided the Singapore's anti-scam number. But a few seconds later, Yumz Snackz received a SMS sent to Yumz Snackz's number with a suspicious Instagram link.
PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON SUCH SMS IF YOU DID NOT REQUEST FOR ANY HELP FROM FACEBOOK OR INSTAGRAM, EVEN IF IT'S YOUR CONTACT WHO ASKED FOR HELP. JUST MAKE SURE YOU VERIFY WITH YOUR CONTACT FIRST BY CALLING THE PERSON.
Yumz Snackz's has since reported the Instagram user to Instagram for potential scam/fraud.
Together, we can fight scammers and if any of our contacts or Yumz Snackz send out such messages (the screenshots below), please help to flag out and inform.
