Our favourite ritual: putting on slippers, heading to a stall for a buttery kaya toast and other local delights. Indeed, we need some loaf (pun intended) from .sg.
Herewith, some obligatory breakfast staple pictures here. We first went for the Kaya Butter Toast Set, which comes with soft boiled egg and a choice of beverage (Kopi / Tea). The bread is soft and crisp. The slab of butter is generous, accompanied with the layer of kaya.
The laksa was pretty decent — rice noodles well soaked in a curry gravy and mixed with hei zhou, ngoh hiang, fu pi and eggs, adding a savoury and balanced dimension 🍜
We also tried the Chicken Katsu Set, the chicken katsu piece crisp and tasty, the inside tender and juicy, while the sauce — we understand it is changed monthly to excite customer’s tastebuds, pairs well with the rice. All of this is served with a side of pineapples, carrots, cucumber slices and a piece of egg.
We opted for some chilled beverages, the Earl Grey Fresh Milk Tea and Roasted Oolong Fresh Milk Tea were refreshing and earthy options, and you should check it out as well too.
