We’re thrilled to finally share some wonderful news — CoffeePlus was honored with one Silver and three Bronze awards at the 2024 Golden Bean Australasia Roasting Competition! This recognition is incredibly meaningful to us, and we wanted to take a moment to genuinely express our gratitude.

A heartfelt thanks to Golden Bean Australasia for providing a platform where coffee roasters can share their passion, and to the coffee community who values our work. We submitted three unique beans across four competition categories, and to have each one acknowledged is a humbling first-time experience for us.

Here’s a look at our awarded lineup:
1. **Silver - Espresso**: Ethiopia Limau Mkali G1 – A favorite for espresso-based drinks, carefully crafted to bring out floral and apricot aromas, prune and berry flavors, and a smooth acidity with subtle tea notes.
2. **Bronze - Espresso**: “Blue Bird” Blend – A new blend of Tanzania and Indonesian Mendheling beans, delivering blueberry jam notes balanced by a warm, spicy finish.
3. **Bronze - Milk Course**: “Blue Bird” – An energizing blend that’s perfect for a morning latte.
4. **Bronze - Filter**: Rwanda Cafe De Mama – A balanced coffee with red apple and grape notes and a bright, pleasant acidity, ideal for adventurous espresso or black coffee lovers.

These award-winning beans are now available on our website! For orders over $50, we’re offering complimentary delivery and a CoffeePlus tote bag (while supplies last).

Finally, a huge thanks to Golden Bean Australasia and the dedicated judges who tasted nearly 800 coffees, and to our fellow competitors. Coffee sample roasting to us is a crucial process. It’s used to evaluate and plan for high-quality production. It involves roasting small batches of coffee beans to determine their flavor profile, acidity, body, and other sensory attributes. By carefully roasting samples, producers can assess the beans’ potential, make informed decisions about blending and roasting techniques, and ensure consistency and quality in the final product. This step is essential for maintaining high standards and meeting consumer expectations in the competitive coffee market. Before we really finalize a standard production profile, sometime we went through quite few sample and pilot roasting batches just try to bring the best out of your coffee.
