Today, I had the opportunity to hold a tea appreciation session at the Day Hospice Center again, giving patients the opportunity to experience all kinds of good tea and learn about our Chinese rich tea heritage knowledge!

Meizhan is the name of the tea variety as well as the name of the tea tree. As a small tree-type large-leaf tea tree, it has strong adaptability and high yield. It can be made into various teas, including black tea, green tea, and oolong tea. Meizhan tea is mainly made into oolong tea, which is produced in Anxi County, Fujian Province. It tastes mellow and sweet, with a strong plum fragrance.

Tasted two types of new floral teas, rose red tea ball and peony flower red tea ball. Both types of flowers enhanced the red tea with a refreshing fragrance of the flowers. Indeed a good choice of tea during the hot summer climates.

This new tea product is called Litsea Red Tea Coin (木姜子红茶迷你饼). It has natural and special lemongrass + ginger flavor. It exudes the aroma of litsea cubeba, which is similar to the process of natural jasmine tea, but it is not seasoned and is pure natural. It’s natural lemon grass taste makes this tea very refreshing.
Litsea cubeba, the aromatic litsea, is an evergreen tree or shrub 5–12 meters high. It is native to Southern Chinese region including Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Fujian.
