Mark your calendars for Singapore’s very first Indie Bookstore Day! 📚✨

Twenty independent bookstores across the island are joining hands to celebrate and spotlight local bookstore culture, each hosting fun and unique programs. Yes, twenty! And that doesn’t even include a few more indie gems unable to join this year. It marks a meaningful first step in shaping and championing Singapore’s indie bookstore scene together.

While Singapore Independent Bookshop Day has been slowly revealing details, bommoi is here to share a little behind-the-scenes peek: we are currently testing the prototype for the event’s must-have item—the Stamp Book! They will be distributed for free at participating bookstores, and collecting stamps from 10 or more shops might just bring you something special... 👀🎁

싱가포르 첫 독립서점의 날이 개최됩니다! 📚✨
(달력에 꼭 써 두세요!) 싱가포르에 자리한 스무 곳의 서점이 모여 함께 홍보하고 각자의 자리에서 재미난 행사들을 선보이려고 열심히 준비 중이랍니다. 네. 맞아요. 스무 군데나 참여합니다. 올해 참여가 어려운 동네 서점까지 합하면 그 수는 더 늘어난다는 사실! 싱가포르의 서점 문화를 함께 홍보하고 만들어 나가려는 의미 깊은 첫 발걸음을 내딛는 날입니다.

Singapore Independent Bookshop Day 에서 내용을 서서히 풀어내는 와중에 봄모이도 동참해서 슬쩍 풀어보는 비하인드 씬 하나. 요즘 행사라면 빠질 수 없는 필수재, 스탬프북 프로토타입을 테스트 중입니다. 참여하는 서점에 방문하시면 무료로 배포될 예정이며 10군데 이상의 스탬프를 모으면 뭔가 좋은 일이 생길지도?! 모릅니다. 👀🎁

Our reading session with the Korean Writers' Association is back!

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to share the joy of reading together but is hesitant about where to begin. Start simply by bringing a single passage from a favorite book to share. Tastes and perspectives only grow richer the more we share them.

bommoi salon is back!
For this session, we are delighted to welcome Shawna Joo, author of the children's travel picture book series Esla Travels.

As an educator, mother, and passionate traveler, Shawna will be reading her exciting story in person. Afterward, children will get to create their very own travel postcards in a special hands-on workshop!

Following the first book set in Korea, the second title, Esla Travels to Singapore, has just been released. In this session, we will explore the Singapore edition together and rediscover the city we live in through the eyes of a storybook.

Recommended Age: 5–8 years old (with accompanying adult)

오랜만에 돌아온 봄모이 사랑방 시간입니다!
이번 사랑방에는 어린이 여행 그림책 Esla Travels 시리즈의 주샤나 작가님을 모십니다.

선생님이자 엄마이자 열정적인 여행가인 작가님이 직접 들려주는 흥미진진한 그림책 이야기를 듣고, 아이들과 함께 나만의 여행 엽서를 만들어 보는 특별한 워크숍을 준비했어요.

Esla Travels 시리즈는 첫 번째 한국 편에 이어, 이번에 두 번째 이야기인 '싱가포르 편'이 새롭게 출간되었답니다. 이번 사랑방에서는 바로 이 싱가포르 편을 함께 나누며 우리가 살고 있는 도시를 그림책 속 시선으로 여행해 봅니다.

bommoi and Asian Film Archive (AFA) are friends! To celebrate AFA’s meaningful first book publication, we are delighted to feature it at bommoi.

In this book, author Raphaël Millet weaves together the diverse facets of Singapore as seen through cinema over the past 125 years, from the colonial era to the present day.
