Shanti restauranger Shanti Touch of Bengal - Authentic Indian restaurant in Stockholm. Bengali flavors, perfect for AW! It was not an immediate success.

What we ate for dinner was not available for restaurant guests even though it was much more authentically Indian than anything else that was in Stockholm. Maybe we were a bit naive but we wanted to Stockholmers would get the chance to experience real indian food. We thought, 'why not open an Indian restaurant where guests can eat the same food as the staff?'

These thoughts became reality when we

11 years ago opened Shanti. In the beginning it was difficult to convince Stockholmers to test something as authentically Indian. We sometimes had to bake chapatti instead of Nan bread because we could not afford the gas bill. Then came DNs Southwestern Commission and we got 7 out of 10 in the ratings. People started showing up to see what we were doing and since then it has only gotten better. We have among other things been nominated several times for DNs prestigious Gold Dragon. At the same time, people have become more interested in discovering the authentic cuisine from around the world and progressively less afraid of Asian spices. Here at Shanti we continue to develop authentic Indian cuisine with a focus on high quality ingredients. On the menu you will find a number of dishes that are not available anywhere else outside India.
