Luzhou Laojiao is one of China’s oldest and most prestigious baijiu producers, based in Luzhou, Sichuan Province — a region renowned for its rich tradition of Chinese spirits.

Last September, we had the honour of visiting them. Our day started with a traditional banquet lunch, followed by a visit to the distillery, where we had the unique opportunity to make our very own baijiu.

And, of course, no trip to Sichuan would be complete without a seriously hardcore hotpot ,one we won’t soon forget!

We call the dish ”shot” because it’s finished by heating oil and pouring it over chili and garlic.
In China potato is not a staple like in Sweden, it’s considered a vegetable. Therefor, although you eat potatoes you still need rice because you don’t get full from vegetables.
