Tucked away down a little alley, this hidden gem is one of the West End’s friendliest LGBTQ+ venues. Occupying a site which has been a pub since the 17th century, Retro Bar has been a secret haven for the eccentric and the alternative LGBTQIA+ crowd since the 90s. Famous for our Insta-friendly rock ’n’ roll ‘gallery’ walls and eclectic jukebox, covering everything from 60's soul, garage and girl g

roups, to classic 70's from rock, punk rock to disco, into new wave & 80's electronic, 90's indie and 00's electroclash. A welcoming space for those who feel that they don’t quite fit in anywhere else.

27 years today since the awful attack on our sister venue, the Admiral Duncan in Soho. Today we remember those we lost, Nik Moore, Andrea D***s and John Light. We think of all those who were injured, all their families and friends.

Community will be coming together at the Admiral Duncan later today, from 5pm, and holding a minute’s silence together at 18:37. We hope that you will join us in taking this moment to pause in remembrance. ❤️ We never forget.

London Trans+ Pride is the world’s largest annual demonstration in support of trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and intersex lives. It is run entirely by volunteers and they rely on community donations to keep the event free, accessible, and safe for everyone.

They don’t accept corporate sponsorships, so community donations are vital in helping them stay independent and rooted in their values.

This International Transgender Visibility Day we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated through booking our upstairs bar 🙏🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵🙏 Since our last donation, we have raised a further £1000 for a trans+ cause TBA!

Sharing here some previous causes we have supported through this fund and the great work that they do 🙏🏳️‍⚧️


London Trans+ Pride is the world’s largest annual demonstration in support of trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and intersex lives. They don’t accept corporate sponsorships, so community donations are vital in helping them stay independent and rooted in their values.


Gendered Intelligence is a trans-led and trans-involving charity that works to increase understandings of gender diversity and improve the lives of trans people.


The Outside Project’s Trans Winter Night Shelter fund. The Trans+ Winter Night Shelter provides a safe, supportive refuge for our Trans+ community who are homeless, escaping domestic abuse, seeking asylum, refugees and at risk of sleeping rough.


Mermaids have been supporting trans, non-binary and gender diverse children and young people and the important people in their lives since 1995.
