Top 5 bowls at the 2022 in the heart of Tokyo. Number 5 was G***a. They do an updated version of their mega-thick tsukemen each year. 2022 was a shrimp and niboshi soup that was more gravy than soup.

The 2023 event runs from October 11 to November 26. It’s gonna be a wild ride. Who’s in this time around?

Menu: Tokusei shoyu ramen, chashu mayo rice bowl, surprise aedama mini noodle bowl.

We’re here in Berlin to present you with Tokyo’s King Seimen. Support from Yatagatasu and of course Berlin’s own Red Bucket ramen. Apologies for not being a better promoter, but better late than never. Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Dinner reservations are long gone. Lunch on the weekend will have a few walk-in seats available. Check my PINNED COMMENT for details. We’re deep in prep right now (by we I mean the chefs) but I’ll keep things updated.

The 2024 Grand Tsukemen Fest, aka the Tsukehaku, aka the Ramen Roundup is coming October 11th with over 100 shops!

This year’s theme is The Ramen Roundup, with a bonkers selection of 115 shops throughout the 6 week run. I’ll be there for most of the second half, how about you?

This photo is of my favorite 10 from last year (I only crushed 39 bowls during the month they were up). I’ll talk about each one a bit over the next week.

KUJIRO ramen in Moscow!

When chef Koitani from had a look around the kitchen at he chose a Jiro-style ramen as the one to do for our 6-day popup. It’s the real deal, with shoyu-soaked back fat and a healthy amount of minced garlic. The locals love learning about unique ramen styles like this. We also created a mazesoba inspired by the newer Japanese shops taking the soup out of their Jiro.
