Hidden among the woodlands of Khao Yai, Maison Mystique was created from a dream.

Founded by Fearn Kate and Bun Dhadasih, the property was imagined not simply as a hotel, but as a world of its own, a place where nature, storytelling, design and curiosity come together across more than 7 hectares of gardens, hidden corners and carefully crafted interiors.

At the heart of the estate stands a mysterious manor connected by lantern-lit corridors, leading guests through spaces inspired by botanical collections, celestial mythology, nocturnal wonders and forgotten tales.

Every room belongs to a different story. Every detail was designed to invite discovery.

Some buildings reveal their story only when you start restoring them.

Built in 1914 by the Schuster family, this Art Nouveau residence in Brașov spent more than a century overlooking the old city before being transformed into what is now Schuster Boarding House.

During the restoration, the team chose not to erase the past, but to integrate it into the design. Original brick walls were preserved, historical architectural details were carefully restored, and even the old rooftop chimney remains part of the building’s identity today.

One of the most remarkable discoveries was an original safe hidden within the house. Inside were documents connected to the property’s history, offering a rare glimpse into the life of the building and the people who once lived here.

Throughout the house, old and new exist side by side. The original staircase still connects the floors, while contemporary interiors quietly highlight the character that was already there.

The result feels less like a hotel and more like stepping inside a story that never really left.
