It’s been almost 3 months since we closed Tantura.
In this period we have dealt with saying goodbye to a decade long project, packing and moving all of the restaurant’s content, continuing to receive hateful messages (which we don’t want to give platform to), thinking about new ideas, trying to keep true to our authentic selves, and receiving love beyond what we can ever imagined.
It was of course never official, but throughout the years we felt like we became ambassadors of the Israeli culture at its finest, through food, hospitality, music, and creating human connections.
The closure of the restaurant is not only a mental challenge. It’s also, and maybe mostly, a financial one. All the sums we have saved during Tantura’s time, until October 7th 2023, we have put back into the restaurant during the past 3 years in order to keep it afloat. In order to maintain Tantura and everything it represented.
Tantura was closed, and the empty space it left brought forth a new dream. We’re positive that we’ll be able to recover and build a new project, that will sore even higher. As Itamar likes to say – “from scratch!”
Thank you for believing in us and supporting us through the years. As kids in Israel, we were taught that “boys don’t cry”. And we don’t, but we learned to ask for help. Thank you to everyone who already donated to our new project. And to anyone who asked how you can help, you can join our new journey by donating in the link below or by MBWAY in this number – 938 895 804.
