🇬🇧 Mycenae — where our name began.
Today, Mikines Original Greek Grill Restaurant, located in Wrocław, Poland, returns to its roots and visits the archaeological site of Mycenae.
For us, Mycenae is not simply the name of a restaurant. It represents history, culture, family and emotion.
The owner and chef of the restaurant chose the name Mikines to honour his wife’s hometown — a place with thousands of years of history and a civilization that left an unforgettable mark on the world.
And this is exactly what we wanted our restaurant in Poland to represent:
Greece is not only white and blue.
It is not only beaches, sunshine and holidays.
🇬🇷 Greece is culture.
🏛️ It is history.
❤️ It is family and tradition.
🍽️ It is customs, traditions and flavours passed from generation to generation.
And above all, Greece is a country with a history that deserves to be discovered and shared with the world.
Today, we stand here in Mycenae with pride and emotion.
Honouring the place that inspired the name of Mikines Original Greek Grill Restaurant in Wrocław.
From Mycenae, Greece… to Wrocław, Poland.
With Greece always in our hearts. 🇬🇷❤️
🏛️ And here, in Mycenae, we also encounter the man who brought this extraordinary world back into the light: Heinrich Schliemann.
The German archaeologist and pioneer of archaeological excavations, Heinrich Schliemann, arrived in Mycenae in 1876, searching for the traces of the Mycenaean civilization described by Homer.
His excavations uncovered an invaluable archaeological treasure and played a decisive role in bringing the great civilization of Mycenae to the attention of the world.
And today, so many years later, we stand here in the very place where history was brought back to life, feeling even more deeply the importance and power of this ancient land.
Because “Mikines” is not simply a name.
It is a tribute to Greece, to its history, and to its culture. 🇬🇷🏛️❤️

A Warm Thank You from Mikines
Today, the team of Mikines Original Greek Grill Restaurant had the pleasure of visiting Nafplio, and especially the wonderful fish taverna Bounos.
Once again, we received such a warm welcome and hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious and, most importantly, fresh and beautifully prepared — exactly as it should be.
A big warm hug and a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Bounos. We truly appreciate your hospitality and look forward to seeing you all again very soon!
