Something new on the menu doesn’t always mean a new ice cream flavour. Sometimes, all it takes is a creative way to serve it. 🥫🍦 Ice cream in a can is a viral Instagram hit! ✨

You’ll need 👉 clear PET containers 👉 aluminium lids and 👉 a compact can sealer. This lets you seal your finished dessert securely and hand it over to your customer to take away. The lid keeps the contents secure during transport, while the clear sides show off every layer.

There’s room for much more than a swirl of soft serve inside. Chocolate sauce, fruit, crushed biscuits, pistachios, crunchy toppings or other seasonal combinations turn it into a dessert in its own right—one you can price higher than a classic cup of ice cream. With just one ice cream base, you can create several versions simply by switching up the toppings.

The sealing process itself looks incredibly simple. It also looks great on video, sparks curiosity at the counter and gives customers a dessert they’ll want to photograph before digging in.

One important note: a sealed can makes the dessert easier to take away and more appealing to customers, but it won’t stop the ice cream from melting.

The optimal number of tables in a restaurant depends on its sales model. In a full-service restaurant, table turnover matters. In a fast-casual concept, the more important metric may be how many portions the kitchen can serve per hour. What does that mean in practice?

In a traditional restaurant, the starting point is the expected number of guests. You need to estimate how many customers will visit during peak hours, how long they will occupy a table, how many people there are on average per order and how many times each table can be used during a service period.

A table occupied by two people for an hour and a half may generate less revenue than one used three times during the same evening. That is why the number of seats alone means very little unless it is considered together with table turnover and average order value.

Crispy chicken restaurants can operate differently. Strips, wings, burgers, wraps, boxes and buckets are all easy to sell for takeaway or delivery. A customer does not need an available table to place an order.

This means that even a small restaurant can serve several groups of customers at the same time:

Today, we're showing you how to use ube, the trendy purple powder made from a Filipino purple yam. It has an intense colour, a mild, sweet flavour and works particularly well with creamy, dairy-based desserts, which makes it a great match for soft serve.

💜 Idea number one:
Soft serve in a dessert cup topped with ube foam.

Blend cream with ube and a sweet ingredient such as syrup, white chocolate or condensed milk. Dispense the soft serve into the cup and top it with the purple foam.

A version designed for a seasonal ice cream stand.

Serve soft serve in a plastic cup and top it with purple whipped cream coloured with ube.
