Recently on World Literacy Day, we highlighted the importance of supporting children as they begin and continue their education.

As part of Mahmood Group’s Student Enrollment Drive, school bags were distributed to students at a school in Makhdoom Rasheed, Multan. The drive focuses on schools in communities surrounding our Better Cotton farms, with activities aimed at encouraging children to enroll in and remain in school.

Cleaner air is closely linked to how we manage energy and emissions across industrial operations.

At Mahmood Group, our environmental efforts include 40 MW of installed solar capacity, contributing to an estimated reduction of approximately 20,987 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually. We also continue to work on waste recovery and more efficient use of energy, water, and other resources across our operations.

Our climate action also extends to industry-wide collaboration. Mahmood Group was among the founding members of the Net Zero Pakistan Coalition, established to bring businesses together around Pakistan’s transition toward net-zero emissions.

On the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, these efforts are a reminder that cleaner air is connected to the choices made across how we generate energy, use resources, and manage emissions.

Color begins with the fiber.

Naturally colored cotton grows with its natural pigmentation already present in the fiber, in shades such as brown and beige. This creates an opportunity to achieve color without conventional dyeing and reduce the water, energy and chemical inputs associated with the dyeing process.

At Mahmood Group, the journey begins at the farm. Through farmer training, education and improved crop management practices, we are working to cultivate naturally colored cotton as part of our approach to more responsible and climate-smart agriculture.

Through our vertically integrated value chain, the fiber then moves from cultivation and ginning to spinning, fabric and garment manufacturing, connecting innovation at the agricultural stage to more responsible textile production.

Our first batch of CA Trainees has successfully completed their two-month probation period and is now confirmed into the 3.5-year Chartered Accountancy Articleship Program at Mahmood Group.

The confirmation session also gave the trainees a chance to look ahead through “A Letter to Your Future Self,” putting their aspirations and personal goals into words. These letters will be revisited in the years ahead, offering a personal record of where they started and how far they have come.
