About one year ago, Ayesha Kitchlew, who spent more than 25 years in the education and banking sectors, left a decade-long role at a leading MNC in pursuit of a greater purpose. Six months ago, Ayesha launched Kitch Kashmiri Chai — a proudly Pakistani tea brand that is rapidly scaling across three key verticals: corporate tea solutions, retail and export, and a signature chai restaurant.
Ayesha turned a family chai recipe into a hands-on operation built from the ground up. Late-night experiments and small-batch samplings led her to source and develop local spice blends, run iterative tastings to perfect texture, and train a team to serve a consistent signature cup. She showcased the tea at festivals and women-empowerment forums and opened online retail channels to reach customers beyond the city.
As demand grew, the focus shifted to accessibility. Kitch launched an online restaurant on delivery platforms, expanded into baked items and tea-time snacks, and introduced a full Kashmiri Wazwan menu. The restaurant became a living lab for menu discipline and guest experience and now holds hundreds of five-star reviews. Plans for a permanent physical location are underway.
The flagship strength remains corporate tea solutions, providing a premium, locally made alternative for modern workplaces and client hospitality. The solutions are customized for corporate clients interested in workplace tea supply, premium boardroom experiences, corporate gifting, and event solutions.
Kitch is preparing to enter export markets while keeping social impact at the core. Kitch is a for-profit business; Ayesha is committed to directing a meaningful portion of proceeds toward early cancer detection research and programs that uplift local producers and women-led businesses.
Follow Kitch Kashmiri Chai to watch culture, commerce and compassion scale together.
