*Can the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir afford to be victimized further????*
Prime targets of firing and shelling from across border, the poor people of AJK are dependent on Pakistan for their primary food source, Wheat, as the climate and terrain doesn’t allow its cultivation in Kashmir. India’s consistent attacks cause to cease day-to-day economic activity of the poor population and one relief that the Pakistani government provided was price-controlled wheat flour, which was suddenly stopped as the finance department has refused to release allocated funds for wheat.
What prompted the Honorable Secretary to come to this decision?
Did he realize that his decision will cause the already suffering population of AJK to suffer further?
Did he, for at least a moment, think that how will a poor Kashmiri, living under constant threat, afford to feed his family??
Did it occur to him that the people of AJK look up to Pakistan for support? Or is this not important to the government?!
Food is the fundamental need for survival. Please don’t make it scarce for people of AJK. Revive the supply of wheat and allow the poor to take a bite of relief.
