ReShape Food Adventures – Chai Space Space

RFA was invited to the Artist Day at Chai Space, the newly open chai place by Super Space.

As this was an invitation, a cup of chai, a paratha and the rides at Super Space were complimentary. Purchased the iftaar platter, which was worth 200/-… Yes! Just 200/-

1- Iftaar Platter- consisted of dates, 6 eatables, and a sauce. Alongwith this they served lemonade which was unlimited serving. The items were Aloo Pakora, Mini Roll, Sandwich, Chicken shots, Dahi Phulki, Cholay, Fruit Chaat and Pasta. Not all items were a hit but the Aloo Pakora, Chicken Sandwich, Roll and Cholay were good. The Chicken shots were best, and all for 200/-, it was good. The lemonade was refreshing and most importantly COLD :D

2- Chai- had a hint of elaichi, but the taste could have improved.

3- Paratha- not the usual Pathan’s paratha, but a different variation, which was an acquired taste.

Overall, the food could be improved a bit, but the ambience was amazing.

Add to that the fact that you get to enjoy the rides after a meal, and can come back for more and re-fuel, is a good bargain.

ReShape Food Adventures – China Bistro - Ultra Chinese

Place- Main Rashid Minhas Road, near Nueplex cinema.

In the ever growing list of Chinese Restaurants in Karachi, China Bistro is one of the latest. Good Location as the Gulshan Jamal (Millennium Mall) area needed the Chinese flavor. A great opening offer was announced @ 50% off.

The staff informed that an hour + wait was expected but when finally seated it was strange to find half the restaurant close to being empty.

Then arrived ‘The Menu’…A shocker because it was very similar to another major Chinese Restaurant Brand.

On inquiring about the serving size in double, was informed that it serves 6! Sadly the pictures speak a thousand words.

1- Dynamite Prawns- The sauce was the usual tangy flavoured sauce, but not very awe-amazing, have tried better, & especially for the price charged. Rs 965/-

2- Mangolian Chicken- a very desi style chicken curry with nothing very unique or sensational about it. Could’ve used a bit of spice and punch. Rs 765/-

3- China Bistro Special Prawns- Amongst all the other dishes, this was, by a popular opinion, considered to be a better tasting curry. Gravy had a different taste to it, which was unlike the curries made at other Chinese restaurants. Rs 875/-

4- Orange Fish- Although this was a gamble& had expected it to be better & full of surprise. Rather than having a tangy taster to it, it tasted sweet & coated in some sugary syrup. Rs 910/-

5- Fried Rice Egg- Have tasted better fried rice, and it reminded of the deal by another Chinese Maestro that serves best tasting rice ON THE HOUSE. Rs 595/-

6- The Drinks- ordered 6 drinks in total. All tasted well, but the best were Lemon Grass Twist & Electric Lemonade. Rs 325/- each.

Over all a mixed experience and taste needs to be improved with some originality.

ReShape Food Adventures – Pizzawaala - An Evolution in Pizza

A new pizza place amongst the umpteen others. But they come with a surprise, with a unique twist, Pizzawaala - An Evolution in Pizza. The pizza itself has a slim crust, which makes it crunchy. They have got a variety of toppings to choose from, which means you can customize your own pizza and enjoy a new and unique flavor every time. Ended up selecting all.

1- Manga Habanero Chicken- the flavours in itself can improve a little, but otherwise the concept and ex*****on is top- notch, which means with the right guidance they can be the best in the market. Cost 750/- for a 12’ pizza.

ReShape Food Adventures – Karachi Eat Food Festival

Ten is a special number and this is a special review of the most happening food event of Karachi which is hands down Karachi Eat Food Festival 2019 and its over now. So this is to keep the memories going :-). It is in two parts and once done with this part the second one will be posted. Straight to the action.

Management - Friday early hours was the best decision as no lines existed but some stalls were not even ready at 6ish.

Khao Dosa - House of Khaosuey & Dosa - The first item tried was Khao Dosa Splitzaa (Chicken and Potato) which was very ordinary and definitely can use a kick. The Sauce or dip can actually be part of the Dosa as a filling and maybe then it will be better. Not the best start. Priced @ 350.

Pizza L'oven - The second item was a safer choice and the 5 Cheese Margarita Pizza Slice was tried and well it was adored :-). Some brands are just winners and the Pizza proved it plus it was all for a good cause. The earnings will be used for Charity and Good purposes. Thumps up. Priced @ 200.

PITA - The Shawarma Revolution The known brand also had a stall and well the Falafel Wrap seemed pretty unique so had to try and be amazed :-). Excellent taste and authenticity. Bravo @ 250.

Om Nom Bros. Much hyped and they had something new in the form of Bunuelo South American Flavors. Filled with Savories and Sweets they also had Dips. The Sweet one was delightful and chocolaty but the savories missed the point and lacked flavor. Over all a mixed experience. @ 300 for 4 Bunuelos.

EMAANS CAKES Time for something sweet so attractive display bought us to Emaans Cakes and Chocolate Mousse priced @ 150 seemed like a good choice for this sweet break. Quite Rich in texture but the chocolate flavor can be better. Overall a decent experience.

Cafe Sino Thirsty by now but had to stop for this before moving on to drinks and this famous brand is known for the sea food which was on display Raw attracting by passers. Tried the Shrimp White Pasta and the excitement died down with the first bite. Shrimp marination was off and finally the the pasta was nothing special. Cant recommend. @ 350

OrganiGo To quench the thirst tried a couple of flavors from Organigo. Pomegranate and Mint Coolers. The taste was indeed organic, nothing more or less :-). Borderline good. Priced @ 100 and 200

Wingitt Wingitt was more green then red :-) A good twist to the brand color, and well it was known what can be expected from the bone less wings and Sweet Thai Chili flavor and it was nothing impressive. They needed to up the game in terms of food creativity this time. @ 250 for 4 wings.

SÒL Finally it was time to get the party started with some Beer :-P and Butter Beer was tried at SOL and the filling creamy drink was refreshing and a hit of the event. @ 250 for one glass.

Pita and Pizza Loven were the winners and the Butter Beer also impressed. Finally some of the branding was outstanding and definitely got the attention. Enjoy the pics.

Hanifia is the #1 option for Hunter Beef. Therefore we had it delivered to our office using the Eat Mubarak App and we only ordered one item which is the Hunter Beef Burger.

1- Hunter Beef Burger - Classic and honest to its name as always. Simple Red Sauce and Hunter Beef is a winning combination. RS. 190/-

Simple Good Food always deserves appreciation :-). Thumbs up. 👍👍
