Mental health, I am defining it very simply: if we keep living in the past, keep staying in the past, and it becomes prolonged, “Why did this happen to me?” There was a loss in business, I did not get married, the marriage did not work out, or I was given a lot of trauma in childhood, a lot of injustices happened, etc. A tragedy happened, someone passed away, sadness, hopelessness, loneliness, the past, this is the first aspect of mental health.
Similarly, the future: uncertainty, unpredictability, “What will happen tomorrow?” Will my business work or not? What will happen in the result? Will I go abroad or not? I am trying my best, etc. When this becomes prolonged, clinically more than two weeks, you keep thinking about the same thing, about the past or the future, again and again, then your bodily functions start getting affected.
