Official Statement – Café Double Dose

Café Double Dose, through its management, hereby places on record its categorical rejection of the false, fabricated, and malicious allegations recently being circulated. It is emphatically reiterated that neither the management nor any staff member of Café Double Dose has ever issued any threat to Mr. Abdul Latif Baloch or to any other individual.
As soon as these false allegations came to our knowledge, we, as the management of Café Double Dose, deemed it incumbent upon us to immediately and unequivocally deny them. On the contrary, it is the management and ownership of Café Double Dose who are being subjected to harassment and intimidation through the deliberate propagation of such baseless allegations, accompanied by threats, with the ulterior motive of tarnishing our reputation and goodwill.
We hold in the highest regard for all bona fide human rights organizations that work selflessly in the service of society. However, the exploitation of these noble causes as a vehicle for personal vendettas, propaganda, and undue pressure is deeply regrettable and cannot be countenanced.
For clarity and avoidance of doubt, Café Double Dose has at all times been, and continues to remain, a public, open-air tea and snack establishment. It has always welcomed the legal fraternity, students, businessmen, and people from all classes of society, without any discrimination, in a peaceful, friendly, and inclusive environment.
We reiterate once again that we welcome everyone without exception. Indeed, we take pride in Pakistan’s national dress, shalwar kameez, which is both a symbol of our culture and our national pride. Any portrayal of Café Double Dose as an exclusive “fine dining restaurant” imposing restrictions or dress codes is wholly incorrect, misleading, and malicious.
Café Double Dose remains steadfast in its resolve to safeguard its dignity, reputation, and goodwill, and shall continue to avail all lawful and constitutional remedies to protect itself against such defamatory campaigns.
