⚠️ Public Service Announcement: AC Service Scam Alert ⚠️
Yesterday I booked AC service from Mahir Company for 2 ACs. Total bill was Rs 4500.
What happened:
1. Downstairs AC: They checked gas pressure first = 100. Service done, all ok.
2. Upstairs AC: They did NOT check gas before service. After service they said gas pressure is only 40 and tried to sell us gas refill.
We knew the AC was cooling perfectly last night, so we refused to pay extra. When we insisted, they checked pressure again properly by opening the valve fully... and guess what? Pressure was 100 again. AC started cooling fine.
They were showing low pressure by partially opening the gas valve to create a fake issue. This is how they try to charge Rs 6000-7000 extra for "gas refill" that was never needed.
Technician name: Mohammad Kashif, came through Mahir Company.
**My request to everyone:**
When you get AC service done, do NOT leave the technician alone. Ask them to open the gas valve fully in front of you and check pressure yourself. These scammers rely on customers not knowing this trick.
This happened to us last year too, but we didn’t know then. This year we caught them.
