We came across this comment shared in a Reddit response to a recommendation for M310 Cà Phê. We completely understand why someone might have that impression, and we appreciate the opportunity to share a little more about coffee and what goes into every cup we serve ☕🤎
One thing many people are surprised to learn is that even locally grown specialty coffee in the Philippines is not inexpensive. Coffee farmers invest months of work into cultivating, harvesting, processing, and drying quality coffee cherries, and specialty-grade beans are often sold at prices that reflect that care and craftsmanship. In many cases, local specialty coffee already costs hundreds to over a thousand pesos per kilogram before roasting and preparation.
At M310 Cà Phê, we also choose to serve authentic Vietnamese coffee that is imported directly from Vietnam. Importing coffee involves international sourcing, shipping, customs duties, taxes, and other logistical costs, and these expenses can be significant. We mention this not as a complaint, but simply to help explain that the cost of a cup is influenced by much more than the brewing device itself.
A phin filter is a traditional Vietnamese brewing method valued for the bold, rich flavor it produces. Its simplicity is part of its beauty, but the quality of the beans, careful preparation, and the journey the coffee takes from farm to cup are what truly shape the final product.
We sincerely respect that everyone has different tastes, expectations, and budgets. Our goal has always been to offer a coffee experience that honors Vietnamese coffee culture while supporting quality coffee and the people behind it.
