To our Brainstorms and Brews family,
I don't usually post things like this, but I feel it's important to be open with you.
Today, the same one-star review has been posted again and again as comments across our posts and our different pages, through a newly created dummy account with no history, and it has appeared on other platforms as well. This wasn't feedback looking for an answer. It was meant to spam our pages. Even so, we still took the time and sinagot namin to share our side of what happened, because that's how we believe concerns should be met, and we'll leave it at that.
What weighs on me more is the manner it was done, kasi our inbox has always been open, and one direct message would have reached us completely.
We're a small business. Behind this cafe are real people: baristas and a team na araw araw lumalaban and nagttrabaho. I value each and every person in our team because I know how hard each of them strive to give their best everyday. As many of you already know, since we started, we're more than a cafe. Part of our mission is feeding the stray dogs and cats in our community, and a portion of every cup you buy helps keep their bowls full. So a flood of reviews like this doesn't just hurt a rating. It hurts our team's livelihood, and it reaches the strays who count on us every day.
We will always listen. If we fall short, tell us. Pwedeng magmessage, talk to us at the counter, write to us honestly. Feedback given with the intent to help us improve will always be welcome here, no matter how hard it is to hear. But there's a difference between feedback meant to make us better and actions meant to tear us down. One helps everyone who walks through our doors. The other only causes harm.
To everyone who has stood by us, ordered a cup, studied at our tables, or sent us a kind word: thank you. You're the reason we keep going, and the reason our strays get fed.
With love,Neve and my Brainstorms and Brews Cafe family
