What are the kid’s favorite Filipino treat this summer time? Ice scramble, or “iskrambol!” Believed to have originated in Iloilo, the popular panghimagas is made of shaved ice tinted with pink food color, topped with powdered milk, tapioca pearls, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Other optional condiments include strawberry syrup, multi-colored mini marshmallows, pinipig (rice crispies), and chocolate chips.

What is the Filipino’s favorite local drink during the summer? Sago’t gulaman, of course! All Pinoys are very fond of the cold, sweet taste of "sago't gulaman" and is very much part of the Filipino Culture. No one really knows when this drink was invented, but the sure thing here is when ice became available, people started appreciating it, especially during the hot summer months.
