Some days, the mountain reminds us who’s really in charge.

This season, yields are down by about 25% across our partner communities. It’s a tough hit; every missing kilo means higher costs, tighter margins, and harder decisions for everyone in the chain.

But a half-filled sack like this also brings us back to our purpose. These cherries come from families who’ve cared for these highland slopes long before Si'jop Capital existed, families who continue to trust us to trade with honesty, especially in years like this.

Lower harvest or not, our commitment stays the same. We pay fair, even when defects are higher. We stay transparent. Because preserving our coffee heritage matters more than the cost of doing business.

This is the work we’re called to do.

Wishing everyone a warm and hopeful Christmas. 🎄✨

The secret inside every cherry 🍒

Just before harvest, farmers split a few ripe cherries to check the beans inside — firm, golden, and ready. Each one tells us the mountain is almost calling for harvest. 🌄

Simple, quiet moments like this remind us that great coffee starts long before roasting — it begins here, in the hands that know when the land is ready.

Before a single cherry is picked, these hands have already done so much. 🌱

From pruning and tending trees to clearing slopes and checking fruit, our partner farmers prepare with quiet strength. Each movement carries years of experience and a deep respect for the land.

Let’s give a moment of gratitude to the hands behind every brew. 💛

It’s almost time. 🌿

In the highlands, mornings start earlier this week — nets are cleaned, baskets repaired, and the aroma of ripe cherries fills the mist. Our farmer-families in Benguet are preparing for the first pickings of the 2025 harvest.

There’s a special kind of quiet excitement before harvest — one built on months of tending, patience, and hope. ☕

We’ve been thinking a lot about everyone affected by the recent calamities. With Super Typhoon Uwan following so soon after Tino, it’s completely understandable to feel anxious about what’s ahead. We hope you and your loved ones are keeping safe and dry through it all.

Please take time to check in on your family, friends, and neighbors. Keep some extra food and water at home, make sure your emergency bag is ready with the essentials — a flashlight, first aid, hygiene kit, and a change of clothes — and stay tuned to reliable weather updates.

Most importantly, stay calm, stay connected, and look out for one another. From all of us at Si’jop Capital, please take care, keep warm, and stay safe.

Keeping you all in our prayers.

Harvest season is almost here! 🍒
Our partner farmers in the Cordillera know the perfect coffee cherry by heart — deep red color, firm skin, and that subtle pop when squeezed between the fingers.
It’s an art passed down through generations, learned by sight and touch more than words.

Before we start picking, we always take a quiet moment on the slope — feeling the cool mountain air and knowing each ripe cherry means another story to share.

Have you ever picked coffee or tasted one straight from the branch? Tell us your experience below! 👇

Reports from the field

The trees are almost ready. The cherries deepening in color, branches heavy with fruit. We’re expecting the first harvest between November 13 to 21, and everyone’s on standby.

But there’s also a bit of worry in the air. A super typhoon is on the way, and we’re hoping it spares the farms just as the cherries reach peak ripeness. Timing means everything this season — too much rain, and we risk losing the perfect window.

Once conditions allow, we’ll move quickly: processing within 24–48 hours after harvest, then a few more days of drying before the beans are ready for sorting.

If all goes well, first deliveries should begin around November 21 onwards.

Farming keeps us humble. Nature always has the final say. Still, there’s quiet optimism here in the fields. We’ve been through storms before.

☕️ More updates soon as we watch the skies and wait for the right time to pick.

For cafés and roasters, coffee is more than a product.
It’s a relationship.
Every sack we share begins with a name, a face, a family in the Cordillera who nurtured those trees.
No middlemen, no guessing where your beans came from.
Just honest, traceable coffee that tells its own story.

This season, let’s make transparency the standard.
Let’s show the world what Philippine coffee can be.
World-class, ethical, and full of heart. 🤝☕️

Ever wondered what makes highland coffee truly special? 🌿 It’s not just the altitude. It’s the way the mist moves through the Cordillera, the volcanic soil that holds generations of stories, and the hands that have tended these trees for decades.

Up here in Benguet, every bean carries a bit of our heritage: calm mornings, mountain air, and a quiet pride in what we grow. When you brew our coffee, you’re not just tasting flavour; you’re tasting home. ☕️💛

The farms are quiet, but the signs are clear — harvest is near.

Cherries are turning deep red, drying beds are ready, and teams are standing by for the first pickings once conditions are right. It’s a short window that demands timing, coordination, and patience.

We don’t rush this stage. The goal is simple: start right, handle each lot with care, and keep every process transparent from day one.

Good coffee depends on rhythm — knowing when to pick, when to rest, and when to stop.

The difference between a clean cup and a dull one often comes down to hours. That awareness only comes from experience: knowing how fruit feels, how it sounds when dropped in the basket, how it smells when it’s ready.

Coffee rewards patience and precision more than anything else. Timing keeps the cup honest.
