The kitchen blasted some melancholic original bisaya songs 🎵🎶 The kind you hear from an old stereo your grandmother plays during an afternoon nap following a favorite bisaya radio drama. Perhaps the Kitchen misses the days gone by too when all that matters is to be able to play outside.

Never have I imagined to live in a segment of a generation where children picks up guns and shoots. Whatever happened to us? We all got too busy accummulating worldy wealth only to leave it all behind when we perish. We forgot we have a new breed of generation to steward.

Who fails who? Because somebody has to be held accountable. And here I am thinking that real wealth truly belongs to the people, the very people we rely to build our nation--the us. It seems to me there is a wide generational gap that must be bridged, one which entails the participation of all. One cannot solely and arbitrarily put the blame on the government, not when we still have a home to go to, brothers and sisters and parents to live with, and relatives to help in the rearing process. It takes a village to raise a child. Nothing can be truer.

Do children even touch a Bible these days?
Or put down phones and tabs whenever dinner is ready?
Do children share the adventures of their day in school while enjoying a meal altogether?
Do they hum to the songs you frequently sing while washing the dishes? Do they help with the chores?

Whatever happened to us? These things live rent-free in my mind the past few days.
