Before Romana passed away almost 5 years ago, she had a dream. A cafe that was also a place to stay overnight at.
When she passed, we didn’t let the dream die with her.
So we opened Balay Ni Romana 4 years ago.
In those years, we’ve shared so many memories with so many amazing people. Great food, good coffee, and moments that mattered.
We’ve hosted weddings, birthdays, company meetings, photoshoots, camping trips, and everything in between.
But this past year has been hard. With San Juanico Bridge being half closed, and fewer people coming home to Samar, it’s taken a real toll.
So with a heavy heart, we’re sharing that at the start of 2026, Balay Ni Romana will be temporarily closing.
Sometimes, things need to be let go to make space for what comes next.
Balay Ni Romana will be taking time to refresh, reimagine, and reset.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our story. We hope you keep an eye out for when BNR opens again. It may look different, but we hope it will still feel like home.
