Heres what was written on the brief introduction I have sent to Mary-Anne, Thank you John Rich for reading it out loud on my behalf 🤍 and also for the snaps! ☺️
“The Hungry Owner started as my way to kill time and cravings when Covid started. My corporate life revolves around the office and our tiny apartment and my travel time from Quezon City to Pasig would always take almost 5hrs of my time from going and back. When they offered the option to do work from home I took the liberty to also be home here in Ilocos. I didnt know that my travel time would give me that big gap of nothingness which makes me crave different food I was used to eat back in the metro. The problem was most of the establishments are closed and were too far town.
I had the basic knowledge when it comes to cooking, I can proudly say we were trained as kids to cook our own meals just in case the adults wont be around. So its a no surprise that I can actually cook.
We started to do a simple pre-order of creamy tuna carbonara through facebook, and I would say success didnt come that easy. I used to beg friends to share postings/ads so more people can see what we are trying to sell.
The page rose into fame because I started a donation drive during Typhoon Maring. We provided food packs into some barangays that was devastated by the typhoon. More people were interested as to where it came from because the food was so good. I started getting more requests of doing different dishes but it wasnt stable, I wasnt getting a daily sale out of it. Then came an order on that same year, one follower asks if I can do a blueberry cheesecake for her birthday. With the confidence that I have, I said yes without any knowledge on how to do it.
The blueberry cheesecake on trial was a success, it was more than what I was hoping for. I posted the finished product on the page and people were so curious on how does it taste, it made me earn my first 10k in one day. The rest is history.
