'𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲?'
What is the local government and barangay officials doing?
That was the question residents of Barangay Pacita 1, San Pedro City, Laguna are now asking after reports of robberies in the past few days.
Meanwhile, some businesses inside Pacita Complex are taking no chances at beefing up their security measures.
In a statement, BRGR Bean Cafe, a prominent coffee shop in Pacita Complex, have announced changes in their operating hours to ensure the safety of their customers.
Starting April 22, store premises are now locked before 9:00 p.m. for security reasons.
However, the cafe will still serve customers until 12:00 m.n.
To avoid inconvenience, patrons are also advised to call or message their staff when entering their premises.
"Pasensya na po sa inconvenience, pero this is for the safety of our staff and customers," BRGR Bean Cafe said in its statement.
These measures were made after a popular Vietnamese eatery was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday evening.
According to the eatery's management, no one was hurt, but their personal belongings, as well as the store's cash and POS device, was stolen.
Meanwhile, other businesses are now calling on local officials to ramp up measures to ensure security inside Pacita Complex.
"We also respectfully call on the local government of San Pedro, together with the Pacita Complex council and barangay officials, to take immediate action regarding this situation to help ensure the safety of everyone in our community," BRGR Bean Cafe urged.
