Udyakan Festival 2026 ignites Patnongon, Antique from February 15 to 23 with the theme “Udyak Patnonganon! Kauswagan Padayunon!” a spirited call to celebrate joy while moving steadily toward progress. 🎉
Traditionally observed every last Monday of February, the festival was first launched in 2001 through the initiative of then Mayor Hon. Johnnyflores S. Bacongallo. This year marks its 26th staging, a testament to its enduring place in the heart of the community.
Derived from the word “udyak,” meaning glee or merriment, Udyakan is a vibrant gathering of people from all walks of life. The celebration features signature events such as the Udyakarsadyahan, Udyakarera MTB Race, Mardi Gras or Playground Demonstration, Lin-ay kang Patnongon, and the much-anticipated Udyakan Fire Dance Competition. 🔥✨
Recognized by a famous Philippine television news-magazine and public-affairs program, Patnongon has earned the title “Firedance Capital of the Philippines,” with its fire dance competition as the festival’s defining highlight. Through Udyakan, Patnongon continues to celebrate its heritage, talent, and collective spirit keeping the flame of tradition burning bright for generations to come.
