RESULTS ARE IN!
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region VI is proud to announce the results of the final judging for the 2026 Regional Coffee Quality Competition (RCQC).
After a rigorous evaluation of the Final Four, we have officially determined which coffees will represent Western Visayas on the national stage:
โข 3 Official Entries have successfully passed the grading as Fine Robusta.
โข All three (3) of these OUTSTANDING entries come from the Province of Iloilo.
โข These entries achieved the required score of 80 points or above, qualifying them as the official Region 6 representatives to the 2026 Philippine Coffee Quality Competition.
โข Additionally, 1 Entry from the Province of Capiz submitted for assessment purposes met the high-quality standards of the competition. While this specific entry fell below the required volume for the main competition, its quality has been officially recognized and validated by our panel of experts.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our consultant, our host, and our esteemed panel of judges for their expertise and dedication to elevating the regional coffee industry:
โข Bodi Mijares, RCQC Consultant
โข Dr. Mike Castaรฑos, Owner of Kucho Cafe
โข Brenda Claver, Head Judge
โข Jamaica Diamante, Sensory Judge
โข Christian Marc Romay, Sensory Judge
โข Arjay Bernas Borja, Roasting Judge
Our Shadow Sensory Cuppers:

Out of the 10 total entries from Iloilo, Capiz, and Antique, these results highlight the incredible potential and improving craftsmanship of our local coffee farmers.
We also thank the Barista & Coffee Academy of Asia and the Iloilo Specialty Coffee Community for hosting this yearโs cupping at Centrale by Kucho.
Stay tuned! The official announcement of the winning farmers will be posted soon. Congratulations to our coffee producers! Your hard work is putting Western Visayas on the map as a hub for premium coffee.
