RESULTS ARE IN!

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region VI is proud to announce the results of the final judging for the 2026 Regional Coffee Quality Competition (RCQC).

After a rigorous evaluation of the Final Four, we have officially determined which coffees will represent Western Visayas on the national stage:

• 3 Official Entries have successfully passed the grading as Fine Robusta.
• All three (3) of these OUTSTANDING entries come from the Province of Iloilo.
• These entries achieved the required score of 80 points or above, qualifying them as the official Region 6 representatives to the 2026 Philippine Coffee Quality Competition.
• Additionally, 1 Entry from the Province of Capiz submitted for assessment purposes met the high-quality standards of the competition. While this specific entry fell below the required volume for the main competition, its quality has been officially recognized and validated by our panel of experts.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our consultant, our host, and our esteemed panel of judges for their expertise and dedication to elevating the regional coffee industry:

�Behind every pour is the hard work of dedicated individuals. From farmers in Philippine highlands who nurture the soil to the processors and roasters who refine the bean, a cup of Philippine coffee is carefully curated to reach its fullest potential.

This coming April 14-15, Western Visayas’ finest local harvests will participate in the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐑𝐂𝐐𝐂), a regional preliminary wherein professional Q-Graders select the top-scoring beans to move on to the national stage: the Philippine Coffee Quality Competition (PCQC).

In coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (.philippines), Barista & Coffee Academy Asia (.asia), and Iloilo Specialty Coffee Community (), we are thrilled to announce that Centrale by Kucho at SM at Iloilo Central Market will be hosting the Cupping Stage of this competition.��Join us as we honor the passion that brings our local coffee to the national stage. ☕️

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 | 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗡𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺

The Capiz Coffee Community through the Skills UpNet Phase 2 Program, successfully conducted a two-day training on Customer Service in Café and Hospitality Operations last March 26–27, 2026 at FHW Dormitel Hall.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Kryztof Ray Carillo (a seasoned Trainer & Consultant in the Hospitality Industry and owner of Mayhekz Technical Vocational School) who equipped local baristas, café staff, and coffee entrepreneurs with essential competencies in professional customer service delivery, effective communication, and hospitality standards — preparing them to provide exceptional customer experiences in the growing café and coffee industry of Capiz.

The Skills UpNet Program is a capacity-building initiative funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), implemented in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), committed to upskilling local communities and strengthening key industries across the country.

Together, we continue to raise the standard of coffee service and hospitality excellence in Capiz. ☕🤝
