Maraming salamat po Asenso Post Studio!!!
1️⃣ What inspired you to start your business Eat Matters?
I started Eat Matters because I believe food is more than just something we eat, it carries culture, memory, and identity. Growing up in Malabon, I was surrounded by incredible local dishes and culinary traditions, and I wanted to celebrate and share those flavors with more people. Eat Matters is the umbrella brand of my other brands: Chili Asylum, Haynayan Ketchups and Traveling Spoon.
As a chef, I also saw how food could tell stories about community, heritage, and the people behind every dish. Eat Matters became my platform to promote Filipino food culture, support local ingredients, and remind people that what we eat truly matters.
2️⃣ What is the biggest challenge women founders face today?
One of the biggest challenges women founders face is being taken seriously in spaces that are still often male-dominated, especially in business and the culinary world. Women frequently have to work twice as hard to prove their expertise and leadership.
At the same time, many women are balancing multiple roles, entrepreneur, caregiver, creative, and community builder. The challenge is real, but so is the resilience. More women today are building supportive networks, collaborating, and creating businesses that reflect their values and voices.
3️⃣ What brand innovations do you do online?
Online, I use storytelling and education to build the Eat Matters brand. I share food photography, Filipino food history, recipes, and behind-the-scenes content from my kitchen and travels.
I also create digital projects like food tours, cooking classes, and visual storytelling through photography to promote local cuisine and culinary heritage. Social media allows me to connect with a wider audience and turn everyday dishes into stories that celebrate Filipino food culture.
