More Than a Mascot. A Safe Place of Togetherness. đ
Before there was a café, there was a vision.
When Rhoel and I started imagining Neighborhood, we werenât just thinking about coffee and pastries. We were envisioning people. We wanted to create a space where someone could walk in exactly as they are and feel welcome. A place where introverts could recharge, tired mommies could catch a breath, students could find focus, friends could gather, and our LGBTQ+ community could feel safe, seen, and celebrated.
Thatâs where S.P.O.T. came from.
Not just our little dachshund mascot, but a reminder of what we hoped this café would be: a Safe Place of Togetherness.
Since opening our doors in September, weâve watched that dream come to life in ways we never expected. Weâve seen strangers become regulars, regulars become friends, and friends become neighbors. Weâve watched people celebrate wins together, support each other through difficult days, and create the kind of community that makes a place feel like home.
This Pride Month feels especially meaningful. Not only because itâs our first Pride as cafĂ© owners, or because weâre a gay couple ourselves, but because it reminds us of something weâve always believed:
Love always wins.
Neighborhood was built from love. And from that love grew friendships, connections, acceptance, and a community that continues to show up for one another every single day.
We believe that when people are welcomed without conditions and given a space where they can simply be themselves, wonderful things happen. People bloom. Relationships thrive. Communities grow kinder.
So whenever you see Spot, we hope youâre reminded that there is a place for you here.
And whenever we say, âYouâve got a spot here,â what we really mean is:
Youâve got a Safe Place of Togetherness here.
Happy Pride, neighbors! đłïžâđ
