Krus na Ligas QC. When Likha-Diwa opened on a full moon in June 1999, we had this desire in mind - to serve vegetarian dishes that make use of locally grown, accessible, and affordable vegetables. Like the famous Bahay Kubo song, the vegetables that we use can be harvested from one’s backyard or homeside pots or can be bought in the talipapa (small local markets). We serve organically grown vegetables as much as its availability allows us. Our knowledge of the aroma and flavors of the various vegetables guide us in discovering new dishes, allowing us to make new twists to old recipes while at the same time offering loads of nutritional benefits. We also serve seafood dishes which are as good as our vegetable ones. Some are counterparts of our vegetarian dishes like the seafood kare-kare, fish & vegetable curry, and shrimp chopsuey. Other seafood dishes are prepared with a little help from ginger, garlic, onions and tomatoes. Our versions of refreshing drinks and coffee mixtures have a healthier twist. We use fresh fruits and vegetables with little sugar (can be removed upon request). Year after year we introduce new dishes. We add vegetables in season which varies the flavor and color of our food in interesting ways or try to come up with healthier preparations that we hope will be delightful. Guided by our desire to serve healthy food, we do not use food coloring, preservatives, MSG or seasonings that contain these. For more flavor in our food, we put generous amounts of garlic, onions, ginger, and tomatoes. We use sabaw ng sinaing or coconut juice in some dishes not only to add to their natural taste but to minimize waste as well. We find subtlety in the taste of our food delicious!
