“Breastfeeding saved us money.”

That’s what people say.
But please don’t call it free.
Because it was never free.

With my sleep—gone night after night.
With my hormones—up and down all the time.
With my energy—running low, but I still kept going.

There was no receipt for the pain.
No refund for the tears I kept to myself.
No break, even when I was already so tired.

So if someone says “breastfeeding is easy and just free,” remember what it actually costs:

A sore, cracked skin that still had to feed.
Long nights awake while everyone else slept.
Quiet moments where I felt invisible…
but still gave everything, because my baby needed me.

Because behind it is a mother giving parts of herself again and again—without rest, without recognition, without a break.

It was never free.
It was paid in full…
by love that kept giving, even when there was nothing left. 🤱🏻🤍✨
