Morong, Bataan - 2019

You said you're burnt out and you wanted to go away for a while. I suggested we go to a seaside town to see some turtles because it's nesting season.

The trip took about five hours. Half of it spent on a ricketty old shuttle driving down a road that seemed to lead nowhere.

I watched you as you stared out the window watching the landscape change from a bustling metropolis into a verdant paradise flanked by craggy limestones and tree butresses. I can hear your sigh of relief as the cool air filled our lungs.

I miss taking long walks. I've been stuck at home for the past two months and going out today felt very strange. My legs ached and I found myself catching my breath as I traversed the length of Katipunan Avenue.

This photo was taken last year during one of my daily walks in UP. It was part of my workout routine and it relieves me of my stress. Experiencing first hand how this pandemic changes us physically, mentally and emotionally makes me muse over the "new normal" that is looming ahead of us.

Anyways, coffee?
