You know that feeling when you realize you've been looking at something the wrong way your whole life?
That's what happens when you start seeing design everywhere, in how our neighbors arrange their sari-sari stores so everything flows smoothly, in how our communities naturally create spaces where everyone feels welcome, in how we've always found ways to make do and make beautiful with what we have.
We call it resourcefulness. We call it community spirit. But really? It's design. It's ginhawa in action.
On October 11th, we're having our very first Design Kwentuhan here in Palawan. Think of it as that afternoon conversation with friends where someone drops a truth bomb and suddenly everything clicks. Except this time, we're talking about design, and how it's been woven into our culture way before anyone put it in a textbook.
We'll be at Lax Café in Tiniguiban (you know, near Drugman House) from 1 to 5PM. Bring your stories, your questions, maybe that project you've been stuck on. Let's figure out together how design can create the kind of ginhawa our communities actually need.
This connects with something bigger too. Design Week Philippines is exploring "Towards Ginhawa" this year, and honestly? We've been living it here all along. We just need to start seeing it.
Fair warning: we only have a few seats because the best conversations happen when everyone can actually hear each other. It's free, but maybe grab a drink or some food. Lax Café deserves our love for hosting this.

So, ready to join the kwentuhan?
