The idea started when one of the proponents was eating the traditional Maki rolls in a restaurant. However, selling the traditional Maki rolls might no longer be feasible. With the help of other proponents, they thought of a way to innovate the common Maki rolls. This led to the birth of a Filipino inspired Maki rolls. The proponents decided to reinvent the typical Maki rolls by using traditional
Filipino food fillings. MAKI-KAIN provides a twist to the classic California maki rolls by incorporating Filipino fillings such as: tapa, pork barbecue, chicken adobo and tocino. California Maki rolls are usually eaten as appetizers. The fusion of Filipino dishes can make the classic maki rolls even as a regular viand. • MAKI-TUNA is a Filipino maki roll with Japanese rice filled with nori sheets, tuna and spring onion.
